Hydraulic oil is a kind of industrial lubricating oil, which is the hydraulic medium used in the hydraulic system using liquid pressure energy. It plays the roles of energy transmission, anti-wear, system lubrication, anti-corrosion, rust prevention and cooling in the hydraulic system.

If the viscosity of hydraulic oil is too high, it will make it difficult to start the pump at low temperature, increase the running resistance, increase the system pressure loss and temperature rise; If the viscosity is too low, the tightness of hydraulic components will be reduced, the leakage will be increased, and the working efficiency will be reduced, resulting in increased wear of relative moving components, thus accelerating the failure of components.

The viscosity selection of hydraulic oil mainly depends on the starting temperature of the oil pump and the maximum working temperature of the system. For areas where the working temperature is not much higher than the environment, the low-temperature pumping performance shall be mainly considered, and the viscosity shall be lower; For construction machinery with high pressure and large flow, the viscosity should be higher when the working temperature is higher (up to 80 ℃). Low temperature hydraulic oil shall be selected for cold areas.

Cooling of hydraulic system

The service life of hydraulic oil is closely related to the working temperature. Generally, the working temperature of oil is preferably between 30 ℃ and 80 ℃. When the oil temperature exceeds 60 ℃, the service life of oil will be halved for every 8 ℃ increase. The service life of oil at 90 ℃ is only 10% of that at 60 ℃. The rise of oil temperature is accelerated, the oxidation and deterioration of oil is accelerated, and the color of oil turns black. When the acid accumulated by this oxide reaches a certain degree, it will bring fatal damage to the system.

When the ambient temperature is high (40 ℃), the oil cooling system should be opened when starting the machine to avoid excessive temperature rise of the system and reduce the damage to the hydraulic oil.

Metamorphic factors

Emulsification: due to the oxidation and deterioration of oil products caused by water in oil and air, the oil film is damaged and the equipment is corroded.

Discoloration: darker color indicates that the oil has deteriorated, reducing its lubrication, anti-wear and anti emulsification properties.

Viscosity change: the viscosity becomes smaller, the oil film becomes thinner, the viscosity becomes larger, and the fluidity becomes worse, which will lead to poor lubrication and increased wear.

Mechanical impurities: when the pollution level exceeds the standard, it will accelerate the wear of mechanical components or cause card issuance and failure. Metal debris catalyzes the oil at a certain temperature and accelerates the oxidation and deterioration of the oil.
